My short horror story, “Birdwatching Notebook Found on a Colorado Trailhead,” is now available in Issue 2 of Archive of the Odd: A Supernatural History. You can pick up various versions of the issue here. The story is written in the format of a birder’s notebook, as an intrepid new birdwatcher sights something better left unseen.
The story features an absolutely gorgeous cover illustration by Rieroo. More of their work can be found here, and his commission info is here. I also did some interior doodles myself to give the story a convincing found document feel. Both experiences were new to me for short story writing, and I’m beyond delighted with the results.
